Senior Airman Deng Deng, a logistics management specialist with the 319th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Grand Forks Air Force Base, ND on Sept 2, 2009. When he was 14 years old, he was one of the "Lost Boys of the Sudan" that were allowed to immigrate to the United States, and participate in a language and education immersion programs that took him from no formal education to his first year in high school in two years. Up until then he and his siblings were on the run, evading the warlords who wanted boys for their armies. Now he is focused and on track to assist family members who are still in refugee camps. He lives a modest life of work, education and physical fitness. Each month he sends money to his parents in Africa. His dream is to the day his whole family can immigrate to the U.S..
