Description
Rick Yancey is a Florida native, having been born in Miami and then growing up in central Florida with his adopted family. He is the author of fifteen novels and a memoir, and the recipient of a Michael L. Printz Honor for his novel, The Monstrumologist. Yancey wrote his first short story for an assignment in his 7th grade English Class, which he received an A for and it led him to think he might like to become a writer. In 2004, Yancey left his job at the IRS to become a full-time writer. He resides in Florida with his wife and youngest son, and their dog, Max.
