The grave of a gentleman named Thomas Riddell who passed away in 1806. The grave is found in Greyfriars Kirkyard, which is right next to both The Elephant House and George Heriot's School. It is believed that Rowling drew inspiration for the Dark Lord's name from this particular grave. It continues to be a spot that draws cloaked fans of the Dark Lord every year.
