While it was not called Spoon at the time, this cafe was the initial writing spot for Rowling when she started Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. At the time it was called Nicholson's Cafe and was owned by her brother-in-law who allowed her a place to stay and write. The plaque in the picture can be found on the outside wall of the coffee shop located just underneath.
