Description
Image is of an Eastern Phoebe songbird resting on a shrub branch at Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.
The Eastern Phoebe is a plump songbird among the earliest to migrate. Seemingly quite tame, it often nests around buildings and bridges where it is easily observed. This species feasts on insects and berries and hunts by watching from a perch and flying out to catch insects.
