Bandelow initially named it the Hungarian Supernova. Eventually, Uwe Meffert bought the rights to the puzzle and proceeded to sell it in his puzzle shop as Meffert's Megaminx. Meffert's Megaminx proportions are also slightly different from the Hungarian Supernova.
