Paris - 1929 Lost Film Fragment
Description
*Reupload with higher video and audio quality*
The 1929 film adaptation of the Broadway musical "Paris" (Cole Porter's first major hit) survives in its entirety on Vitaphone sound discs, but only fragments of its visual elements survive. This original Technicolor clip was discovered by the BFI in 2018. I have synced the visual fragment with the corresponding audio from the Vitaphone soundtrack. This clip features Irene Bordoni and Louise Closser Hale, who reprised their roles from the original 1928 Broadway production.
