He grapples with the implications of his creation when abandoning it, and later hunting it. Through the eyes of the creature, the novel brings into question the nature of life and humanity. The relationship between Frankenstein and the creature inspires philosophical debate and makes use of religious imagery. The origins of this novel have become as much a story as the book itself.
