<p>Yoshiki Tonogai (外海良基) is a Japanese manga artist from Shiga Prefecture, born on March 14 (year undisclosed). Before making his manga debut he worked as an assistant to <em>Soul Eater</em> creator Atsushi Ohkubo. He is best known for a trilogy of psychological survival-horror manga - <em>Doubt</em>, <em>Judge</em>, and <em>Secret</em> - all serialized in Square Enix's <em>Monthly Shōnen Gangan</em> and connected by the recurrence of an iconic rabbit mask. He is also notable for his illustrating the <em>Time Killing Arc</em> of <em>Higurashi When They Cry</em>.</p>
<p>Each of his three connected horror series follows a group of characters trapped in a confined space and forced to identify a killer among themselves, with a strong emphasis on paranoia, moral culpability, and final-act reversals. <em>Doubt</em> ran from 2007 to 2009, <em>Judge</em> from 2010 to 2012, and <em>Secret</em> from 2013 to 2015. All three were published in English by Yen Press. A live-action film adaptation of <em>Judge</em> was released in Japan in 2013.</p>
