Why street art? Street art has long been a storied part of Miami’s particular local beauty, but the history of this art is difficult to hang up in traditional galleries or showcase within a brick-and-mortar library’s art book section. Due to the ephemeral nature of this artform, short of making the drive through Miami and all its murals - a trip possible with our map plug-in which pins the location of each mural - a digital library allows us to preserve the memories and histories of these incredible works of art that have influenced Miami-Dade. How to search and browse: The “Search Items” tab has extensive options for browsing - you can search by the properties in which each item is coded by, as well as other facets such as geolocation or tag (Historic/Surviving). The next tab, Browse Map, also allows you to view by pinned location on a map of the Miami-Dade area. At any point, you can return to the Home screen by clicking on the left hand title, and browse all items at once.
