Norikazu Kawashima (川島のりかず, 1950–2018) was a Japanese manga artist active during the 1980s. Working primarily for the publisher Hibari Shobō, he produced approximately nineteen horror comics between 1983 and 1988. Very little is known about his life; he was famously reclusive, and a few years after the publication of his final work he burned all of his original artwork and disappeared from Tokyo.
Norikazu is best known for his 1986 work "Her Frankenstein", which is considered a landmark of classic horror manga and was praised by Junji Ito as "a frightening but moving story." Translator and historian Ryan Holmberg has described Kawashima as one of the last great authors of the pre-magazine era of horror manga, the tradition that directly preceded Ito's debut. A Japanese reprint appeared in 2022, and an English translation followed in 2024.- Bibliography
