El Duende

Title

El Duende

Description

El Duende is found in Latin American and Filipino folklore. It is believed that duendes are goblin- or fairy-like creatures; sometimes living in the walls of children's bedrooms. El Duende would sometimes take the children's toys or attempt to clip their toenails, often clumsily clipping the whole toe. Some folklore points to duende bartering with young mothers to eat their children, while some claims that, if lost in the forest, a duende would help guide you home.
