About
This digital library was created to explore the cultural impact of reality television through curated collections and exhibits. Using the Omeka platform, the project brings together selected materials that highlight iconic contestants, memorable moments, and key themes within the genre. Current exhibits focus on series such as Survivor and The Traitors, showcasing the strategies, personalities, and defining moments that have shaped each show’s legacy. By combining descriptive metadata with curated content, this project demonstrates how digital libraries can be used to organize, present, and interpret reality television in meaningful and accessible ways.
MEET THE TEAM
Erin Golden
Hi! I’m Erin Golden (like the sun); 35, Floridian, bibliophile, and lover of all things competition reality. When I’m not busy shelving books or teaching library skills, you can find me reading (probably fantasy), frolicking outside, or cheering on my favorite Reality Royalty™ stars. Survivor is my number one reality competition, but Traitors comes in a close second. Though I might never find myself on an island competing for my life and a single rotisserie chicken, I get very invested from the couch (which I will not get off from, despite Cirie’s urging).
Nyabi Benjamin
Hi, I’m Nyabi (pronounced “Ny-” like “sky”). I’m a self-proclaimed reality TV historian and devoted Jeff Probst apologist. Survivor holds the primary spot in my heart, but I’ll honestly watch anything (Big Brother, 90 Day Fiance, Rupaul’s Drag Race, Love is Blind…), the messier the better! When I’m not screaming at my TV, you can find me reading a romance novel or pretending to relax while I play Stardew Valley.
Gianna Cannavale
Hi, I’m Gianna Cannavale, but friends call me Gi! I’m a Floridian, romance reader, and certified overthinker of fictional relationships. I have strong opinions on Twilight, Star Wars, Titanic, and basically any dramatic dating show (yes, I will judge final rose decisions). When I’m not reading or working, you can find me spiraling over enemies-to-lovers tropes, scrolling BookTok for my next read, or fully invested in reality TV chaos from the comfort of my bed.

Hi! My name is Sarah Warren. I am a 22-year-old cat mom and an unapologetic drama enjoyer from Jacksonville, Florida. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing the clarinet, and eating copious amounts of Chick-fil-A! My favorite Reality Royalty TV show is The Bachelorette. I am a certified Hannah Brown apologist!

She’s a fan of crime dramas like Criminal Minds, Elementary, Chicago P.D., and The Following, and also enjoys reality and competition shows like Squid Game: The Challenge and Married at First Sight.
