Description

J.K. Rowling frequently visited Nicolson’s Cafe while writing "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers (Philosophers) Stone". She was a single mother without much money and was able to spend time writing in the cafe for just the price of a cup of tea or coffee. Nicolson’s Cafe is no longer open but has been replaced by Spoon Bistro. There is a plaque at the exterior of the building that housed Nicolson’s Cafe commemorating Rowling's work there.
