J.K. Rowling Writing Locations

J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series, moved to Edinburgh as she was writing Harry Potter and the Sorcerers (Philosophers) Stone. Rowling found inspiration among the historic streets and landmarks of Scotland's capital city. Character names can be found on tombstones in a local cemetary and colorful winding streets possibly inspired the wizarding street of Diagon Alley.
